How Does a Book Get Made?

There are so many books all around the world, ranging in languages, sizes, formats, materials, and of course, content. Whole stores and businesses are devoted to strictly printing books, and turning words into beautiful pieces of art. Book printing is not as easy as it may seem on the surface, and encapsulates several different methods of putting together a story. Books need to go through several processes before they are sent to the printer, and then several more in order to be produced.

In this video, we will get a behind-the-scenes look at how books get printing, binded, and created.

First of all, the entire story gets printed onto the initial printing plate, which is a giant sheet. All of the sheets then get fed into a machine that prints them onto several rolls of paper. They are then cut down to a manageable size, folded together by a machine, and then sent down in large section to the binding line. The spines are then glued into the books and a paperback is born. They are then cut in half and have their edges trimmed for a gorgeous new paperback book!
